Is it common for this to happen? I mean it is able to hold its position, but it isnt exactly solid. It wiggles easily back and forward in a limited area from where it is positioned.

Also I noticed... now if I set it down quickly, it's enough to make the screen slip a little....

Its really not that big of a deal, but the problem is this notebook is less than 2 weeks old, and it is ageing quickly. I open and close the lid a few times a day. It seems like it wont be long before the screen cant even hold itself up anymore.

If it does get to be a serious problem, is there an easy solution?

    I've noticed this too....

Mine's not that pronounced, but it does occur when I'm typing sometimes.

EDIT: Fredrick, have you noticed that the screen doesn't latch down all the way on your notebook? I've been experiencing this with mine.

Yea hinge problems in Dells are often. Mine got to a point where it had to be in a certain position to stand up. Called dell and got new hinges and replaced it. much tighter now, but how long will it last.....
