I just installed Vista RC1 into my E1705. Vista has a driver for my nvidia 7900gs 256MB. However when I view the adapter information, it says
Total available graphics memory: 312MB
Dedicated video memory: 248MB (?? should be 256MB like in my XP)
System video memory: 0MB
Shared System memory: 64MB
I tried to download the driver from Nvidia but things are the same. Has anyone noticed this?

I'm just wondering, what does dxdiag say? (Start -> Run -> dxdiag) or whater you have to do on Vista to get to the Run box.

new vista features...reported all over internet for PCI-e cards.
and 256MB is free will rounding from nvidia. -

after installing 1gb ram, making it 1.25 in total, here is what vista tells me about my 7900gs.
anyone has ideas about this?Attached Files:

Iceman0124 More news from nowhere
basically it looks like vista is making use of a hper memory type scheme, allocating a portion of system ram to the graphics card, wich probably wont increase performance, probably shouldnt hurt it either

It won't hurt it
