Given all the complaints that have been posted about screen quality on their dell, I was wondering if most people hated their screen quality.

I love my e1705's screen. It looks excellent (its one of the lg ones). My only complaint is the fact that it is glossy and I cant use it in the sun effectively.

That's one of the reasons why I went non-glossy. Can't stand the glare when playing games during the day on weekends.

    Hi,

I got the non-glossy one also, as I found out yesterday, it's a LG. I'm happy with mine, only thing I could complain about is the relatively small viewing angle, especially vertical (i.e. you have to adjust the lid pretty exact to have the best picture).

I notice that in the US, hardly anyone buys the non-glossy screen. Here in Germany, these are more popular among advanced users as many people don't like the light reflections in glossy screens.

Do you like the resolution of the XGA screen? I think some people are likely forced into the glossy screen since that is the only option if you want a WUXGA screen.

Yes, that was the second reason for me to buy the WXGA-screen. With WUXGA, text would be to small for me to read it comfortable (I don't want to use my glasses everytime I sit on my computer).
WXGA is just perfect for me, not to small, not to big.

Besides, I can run a number of games in native screen resolution with perfect picture quality. I don't thinks this is also possible in WUXGA.

I gave my hp dv6000t to my wife, then she threw the mirror out of her backpack and said :"I love the glossy screen so much! :D " which I hate so much
