Just got my new E1705 last week, and I think there may be a Power button problem.

I don't know what everyone else's buttons feel like when turning the comp on, but mine doesn't seem to depress very far.. its as if it is stuck or something.. Alot of the times, the computer will not turn on either  as if I am not pushing the button far enough.

I called Dell and told them what was up, and the CSR took me through a "de-static-ing" process, where I take the battery out, unplug it, and hold the button down for 15 secs.. it worked, but the button still feels stuck, and just now the problem is back.

I don't think you have to "de-static-ize" a laptop like this every other time you want to turn it on.

Does anyone else have this problem? And, how do your Power buttons feel?

Well...my I9300 the button doesn't move very far, but is easy to turn on and pushes in easily.

My suggestion is if it doesn't feel right, call Dell and tell them you want it fixed. If you need to, speak to a manager and they will usually make it right. You are correct...you shouldn't have to de-stati-size it everytime.

    Hope this helps. :)

mine also barely depresses, but I think it's just designed that way. I have had no problems turning it off/on, or taking it out sleep mode.
