The other thing to be aware of as I had a replacement after a similar situation with my E1505 -- is that you will be getting a REFURBISHED USED UNIT. If you were expecting a new one -- it will not be new, and your warranty obviously is from the date of purchase not the replacement. In my case I did get a nice upgrade, but not worth the hours and hours on the phone with India.

Yea the multi hours and days i spent talking with dell was horrible in the worst way. As long as the used model dosent come with dents or scratches and works like new ima be ok. im in a college and going to class with and broken one is not good. im still coofused on the part where the rep said that im getting a new model but said the newest model isnt 1700? anx info on that guys?

Yeah that is a bit confusinng although my experience with Dell has not been stellar. Isn't amazing how no one in that organization really wants to take ownership of a problem. Dealing with India was the worst -- they kept on saying, "You have my word sir." -- If I believed that the first time I'd still be waiting for my replacement. Our company uses Lenovo, and I think I'll stick with them because at least we have some clot given the volume we give them. With Dell I truly felt like just a jerk for giving them my hard earned money.
