okay, so I bought an E1705 about 2 months ago....the thing is a beast. I recently emailed Dell about replacing the screen (1440x900 matte) due to some light leakage......now, the light leakage isn't THAT bad in the first place, maybe 1/5 to 1/4 of the way up from the bottom......anyways, so Dell sent out a technician out who ended up putting a stress crack in the LCD bezel (the silver trim around the screen) and was not willing to continue with the fix, as he didn't want to break it completely.

Now, Dell wants me to send them my entire system so they can replace the whole lid......so, you're suggestions? Should I send it in to them or just keep it as is.....you can't even tell there's a crack in the bezel, it's so minor.

do what makes you satisfied. if you want it fixed and know how to disassemble and reassemble your computer (it's easier than it sounds), tell them to send the part to you and you can do the fix.
