Don't hit me :D I recently posted without searching however i am confident that after searching i could not find the answer. If however it has been answered plz give me a good smack upside the head.

Is the e1705 able to take more than 2gb of ram for example if you used one 2gb module and another 1gb module.

so there is no possible way because i believe that xps 1710 goes up to 4gb and isn't the 1705 and 1710 based of the same base.

You would think, but apparen't according to all of the memory selectors, it is not possible. I'm like you. I thought that since the M1710 and E1705 mirror each other so much that it would be possible.

I doubt if its a hardware restriction, and can probably be changed via BIOS. But that's just my non techie WAG
