So I've had this computer for about 2 months now and it's been having this problem for a while

Sometimes it gets to desktop sometimes only to the welcome screen and the whole system locks up and i can't move the mouse at all.

I have the latest A08 bios from dell but i'm just not sure what could be doing this. Any advice?

I do run modded video drivers. Could that be it?

Possibly. Also, did you do a clean reformat of the system or uninstall all the bloatware? Bloatware tends to cause issues.

Ya i did a complete wipe and reformat and got all the dang drivers back...lol.

So there's no bloatware except for the Dell Wireless thing.

I have had this issue before too, and Dell didn't care.

You can try uninstalling your modded drivers. I have had a few problems using Omegadrivers... Sometimes the new versions will do that.... Just look for other versions of the modded drivers, and that should help.

If installing different video drivers doesn't help, run video diagnostics (if available). It may be a video card memory issue. Another possible cause could be system memory. Swap out memory just for testing purposes or try removing one memory stick, then the other and see if it still locks up. I hope this helps. :)

And he solves the problem. Or at least a portion of it. Try uninstalling your sigmatel audio drivers and reinstalling.

I have had those things go bad twice now. Reinstalling always fixes it.

Lol i just found out completely what was wrong and i haven't crashed at all the last five times i've started it up. I had to use Msconfig and keep almost everything from starting up except my bluetooth mouse thing.

It's worked like charm ever since.
