I may have an opportunity to sell my laptop to a friend.

In which case I would get an E1705 with 7900GS.

My E1505 is quiet. The fans never come on high speed.

How is the E1705 with 7900GS? Do you hear fans?

My E1505 is also pretty cool, runs in the 102F to 120F range. Kind of surprising since I've always heard that some laptops like the MacBook or MacBookPro run scarily hot.

Mine is very quiet. Through normal use my fans never turn to high. Generally, just on the internet one of the fans will be on slow.

My T7400 2.16Ghz E1705 runs very quiet also. Mostly the fans are off. When they do turn on, it is generally for a few minutes to cool things down (the CPU cools to about 100F then the fans turn off).

    I'm happy with it.

if you use a temperature management program such as I8kfanGUI, the fans almost never come on high. And the laptop is very quiet with fans not running and is barely audible with fan(s) on low.
