Found a guy who will sell me his Q6600 and do the installation work for me, for 150.00 for everything. Considering replacing my E4400 with it, then selling the E4400 for 75.00 or so to help cover the cost of the upgrade.

Do you guys think it's worth it? Will I notice a substantial difference in games and overall performance? I haven't been able to find any solid benchmark comparisons or answers with search or google.

Should work fine as long as your chipset supports the Q6600, and it should if it supports the E4400. They are both 65nm Core 2 based. The Q6600 is a Kentsfield which is two Conroes in one CPU. The E4400 is a single Conroe with half the L2 cache.

So the upgrade would be worth it then you think?

We did some research and the chipset should support it without a hitch.
