I know that these are the same chassis. I just wanted to ask whether they can handle the heat from a quad core + dGPU and which one would you get? I'm currently torn between these two because I need the number pad with a quad core with HT because of my work, and these two are the ones I'm currently looking at. The price is actually quite comparable with little difference and I plan to get the i7s quad cores on whichever one I pick. The dGPU literally does not matter at all because I will have very little use for it. I just need a quad core with HT and a numberpad. I have used an external numberpad in the past, but I switched over to a T560 and I can't bring myself to bring a bloody external numberpad again. The duo-core on the T560 wasn't enough, so here I am.

Anyone have any other suggestions are welcome too because these were the closest ones I could find. Price is generally a non-issue unless we plan on breaking 4-5k here.

Does anyone know if battery packs are supported on the M3510 because as far as I know the E5570 doesn't have an option for USB-C/TB3

    Heya there,
Just got my M3510 with the larger battery...
And I am suffering a bit of "range regret" of the horsepower vs battery life vs the i5 model.
I have a client with the i5 and the standard sized battery, and his lasts the same length of time as my i7 with the larger battery.
And yeah, it's always throwing out 40'C+ *heat* even when just using the web / office apps.

For what it's worth, the E5570 will be getting the USB C connector in the next quarter, but the M3510 has the USB C optionally right now - I got it with the USB connection, and I love the ability for me to both use an E-Dock OR the WD15 dock to charge / drive external displays.
However, it all depends what else you might want USB C?

If you want me to run some benchmarks, I have access to an i5 quad core E5470?

In terms of battery packs- I have a Power Companion pack that charges through the main power adapter. Again, I do wish I had bought the bigger power pack given how power hungry the i7 is.
    Whoops.

    Regards

    Jules
