Screen cracked on mine, so it's time for a replacement.

It came from the factory with the 900p panel

Is the 1080p screen a worthwhile upgrade?

If so, which would be the best to purchase? Model # would be helpful.

Lastly, Is the upgraded screen a simple drop in or does the HD data cable need to also be replaced?

    Thanks.

Usually you need a matching cable when upgrading to a higher screen res.

Typically if your model had the option for the 1080p screen then it should be able to be swapped for the higher res screen using the HD cable for the 1080p screen

A LVDS 1080p 15.6" panel is a drop-in upgrade on that laptop. No change of cable required.

Keep in mind that some of the newest panels are eDP, and cannot be retrofitted. Unless you obtain that converter board that a Chinese guy on one of the Lenovo forums was selling.
