Seems to be something got in there like the size of a grain of rice. Pretty small but makes my "1" key kind of weird to the touch. Help?

First you should try to turn it over and shake a bit...maybe it will come out.

If not you will have to take out the keyboard...for that you should consult the service manual on the support website of Dell.

A can of compressed air should do the trick

If it was a desktop you can use a paper clip to take out the keys but as it's not you may have to unscrew the keyboard which usually involves unscrewing the back e.t.c. but I've never done it on a Vostro. As bobob said, try a can of compressed air. If you don't have one, they can be bought from most photography stores.

Yeah, I might get one can but if it doesn't work? And taking out the keyboard what would that do? I'd still have to take out the key regardless. Is there a way to take out the key easily?

Before you do anything, remember to turn off the power, disconnect from the power source and disconnect the battery.

The first thing you need to do is put your laptop in front of you on a desk and move the screen down to 180 degrees so its parallel to the laptop.next to the hinge there is a small empty space (above led lights)... slide something thin under it and pop that whole part up. Dont worry you wont break it. once the part in the front is popped up. turn the laptop around and pop up the hinges as well. remove the entire top part now.

After that, remove 2 screws that hold the keyboard together. Then gently take the keyboard out, but dont pull too hard , there is a piece that is actually holding the keyboard attatched to the computer. Simply FLIP it over.

Then remove the trash and reassemble it.
