Ebay Dell Batteries any Good?

Are Dell Batteries bought from ebay any good? You would save a lot but would using this void your warranty?

Has anyone bought a battery for their Dell from ebay and everything worked fine? How was the quality and how long did it last?

If you broke your Dell from an ebay battery did Dell find out?

 

I've bought a few batteries off ebay before for one of my old Dell INSPIRON 1100, and so far it works great. It just depends on who you buy them from. I bought mine from a computer business who sells on ebay who is very trustworthy. I would most likely not buy them from the average joe. I was also given a year warranty with mine so if something goes wrong i'm covered.

 

No, it doesn't void your warranty. Generally batteries that are on ebay are the same batteries that you get from dell -- depending on who the seller is.

The seller looks pretty good. Dell probably can tell that you bought the battery elsewhere. On batteries directly from dell, there is a white sticker that has all of the serial numbers, dell info, etc on it. Generally ones from ebay and online vendors don't.

Whether they are going to care or not? I would guess probably not since I don't think batteries are covered in dell's warranty. Just to be safe, it is always best to keep your orginial battery in case something happens to your new battery or if you do have to send it in for repair work.

I got my battery from an online vendor, and so far, dell hasn't given me any problems about it.

 

Ebay is a great place to get batteries for laptops... They are usually like 1/2 of what dell charges. When buying a battery off ebay, just make sure its an ORIGIONAL DELL BATTERY, and not some Chinese made generic battery. The generic batteries sometimes work just about as well as the original dell batteries, but sometimes they are TRASH! So watch out!

Well, I just got my batteries today - straight from Dell! These batteries are genuine Dell and they have serial numbers! They came at 40% charge and are in good health accodring to my battery meter. I would recommend this ebay seller to others.

The batteries I got from ebay were made in Japan. My original ordered Dell batteries came from Japan and 1 from China.

 

I bought my 9 cell off ebay to save some cash and it works great. I've had it for atleast a since early January. Gives my 6000 5h+ battery life, which is great for school.

I don't know if I'm allowed to plug a particular seller but I got mine from the seller 'wholesalelaptopparts' check and see if that seller has an auction up for the 9cell. Had 100% positive feedback. Shipping was fast, and like I said... real deal dell battery and works great. =)
