    With the discount coupons, is it better to order directly from Dell or grab one off Ebay? Ebay sellers state that the warranty doesn't start until payment is received so does that also mean that I could return the notebook to Dell if it wasn't what I wanted? I haven't seen many Ebay re-sellers offering the printer that comes with an online order to Dell but if they do, it costs $30-$40 to ship it.

    definetly go with Dell. Just because the warranty transfers over, doesn't mean that you'll be able to return it. You have 21 days from the date of invoice to return a system, so generally Ebayers will have gone past that date. I believe Dell still has free shipping right now, and they have alot of good deals going on right now because of summer.

    I wouldn't take the risk, go with Dell direct. You can get a real nice computer from them with the coupons.

    DELL DIRECTLY - no doubt about it. Take it from me. I got a Latitude D810 on eBay, it was listed as New/Sealed. When I got it, it was not only refurbished - but stolen. Dell wouldn't transfer the warranty, and I went through a heck of a time with the seller to get my money back. I eventually had to go to the police to get everything worked out. Eventually I got my money back and ordered a new Inspiton 6000 that had EVERYTHING I wanted for only 300 more then I had paid on eBay. I have never had a problem with eBay before that, but that situation was BAD.

    ~~~I am looking to buy someone's left over 512MB DDR-2 PC4200 SODIMM
    ~~~(maybe out of a Dell Inspiron 6000, 9300, XPS, or Latitude D810)
    ~~~If you've got one to spare, please let me know.
    I am going to voice my opinon to go with dell.com. If you are ordering a laptop I would go through Dell small buisness, better warranty, and if you call to order you get a US agent.
    Dell warranties can be transferred, but that does cost money, furthermore, is it worth $20 to $30 to buy off ebay, no!
    Dell Direct, you can get a brand new laptop, instead of ebay, where you have the risk of getting japped of your money and product.
