I missed out using my $250 education coupon. They pulled it yesterday, the the day I went to place my order on a system I had already configured. Does Dell often offer these, or was this the only time they've ever had it? If the latter is the case, then I'm probably better off just getting something locally on sale, Toshiba or HP. I know they have the $300 off $1299 or more systems going which makes it a good deal for higher end configurations, but I really wanted to stay under $1000 tax included.

Don't know if it's coming back or not, but in my case the price diff was about $2 when I built mine with the coupon at the time (between university and dell home) but my system was higher end.
I just built a 1520 on the US site. $1003.00 + tax (Wa tax here is $88.29) comes to $1,091.29 Shipped (free ground shipping)

I dont' know what specs your looking at but this probably will beat anything you can go out and just buy preconfigured, that is, if you can play the waiting game. -
I'm not sure if this applies to you, but I just purchased a 1520 this morning from my school specific EPP site. I wasn't charged shipping or tax (I live in FL). Contact your specific EPP account manager. They'll work something out with you (example: mine upgraded my harddrive for $2.50).
Education coupon - likely to come back?
