I noticed when I was initially looking at the Inspiron notebooks that you had the option of purchasing a AC adapter; don't all notebooks come with a AC adapter? If not, how do you charge up the laptop? :(

Sorry about the question, just a total laptop noob :p.

I think that's to get a second one. Leave one at home and one at work, so you don't have to carry it back and forth. Seems silly to me, but some people might go for it.

It's an extra one, you get one standard. Nothing to be embarrassed about.

Well... its a hassle if you use your laptop for work and home constantly. Why carry it around and have it bulge out of ur case/add unnecessary weight while your commuting (possibly on a bus or subway).

Yep that's exactly what I did. I do not want to go behind my desk every time I move my laptop. So I have one AC adapter that will be at my desk all the time. And one I can carry around in my laptop bag.

If I were to buy one, I would be one of those Kensington slim ones. They cost like $100 ish, but it's worth it. It works in the car, wall, airplane and it's only 6oz. Very slim as well. It's a good investment, if you ask me.

Alright then, glad I didn't spend $50 on an extra one, heh.

I did not even think of that. :p I should have looked into a 3rd-party one.

I have 4 myself. One at home attached to the dock (so it's essentially immobile), one at school, one for travel, and a bulkier DC charger for the plane. The last two are admittedly redundant.

I bought a Targus with my Dell C600 - but eventually the cables developed an internal break or short - it might even have been what killed the C600 motherboard. So with my D610 I got a second one from Dell. It was a lot bigger and heavier than I expected (it included Auto/Air) - in a metal box. I leave that one at home except when on business trips.

For day to day I carry the original Dell one to and from work. It must have been wound and unwound twice a day for well over a year and no sign of a break yet - I think the rounded shape of the adaptor has contributed to this endurance so I wasn't very happy to see the M1330 looking like a rectangular brick.

For users that have large laptops, spare AC adapters really help. Like me, I bought 2 extra ACs for my M90; 1 for work, 1 for my house and 1 for my gf's house, so I do not have to carry the HEAVY 130W AC around.

Good tip. How much does your M90 weigh? Are you in college? If so, does it get to be a pain lugging your computer around?

My parents are divorce; therefore, I have to bring it around every half a week or so. My laptop is around 6-7pounds + books, do you think that will get to me?
