It died suddenly. Then I found that neither of the AC adapter nor the battery can supply power to the machine. If I connect the AC adapter, the green light on it turned off. This light would come back only if I disconnect it from the computer and replug it into the power socket. I think there is something wrong with the part of power supply of the computer. Has anyone a similar experience? I don't know what to do because my warranty just expired.

remove the ac adapter and remove the battery. hold the power button on for a few seconds, then put the battery and ac adapter back in. see if that fixes it.

If your warranty expired you'll have to pay for the notebook to be repaired. See if your local computer repair shops will give you a free estimate. I have a friend that suffered a related problem with his HP laptop, and the repair was going to cost nearly as much as a new laptop.

I tried this method. It doesn't help. Any more suggestions?

Yes: read my post above.

That expensive? If it is true, I have to consider to buy a new one.

Had anything happened to the laptop before it began malfunctioning?
-
well it could be 2 things the motherboard or cpu. its hard to say without having parts to try and swap out. ill buy it for $100

Laptop repairs are not cheap or easy. Labor charges are typically 40-50 per hour, plus the cost of parts. Yes, a voltage repair (regulator, power supply, etc) can easily approach the cost of a new or used laptop.
