I'm helping a friend with a Dell Inspiron 3520. He needs to restore
to an earlier point but he keeps getting a ocx000000f error code.
He doesn't have a restore drive or cd.

    Any suggestions?

More details? Are you using System Restore? The recovery partition? Does the machine start at all? When are you getting the error? Is it a bluescreen?
