    Today is 8/22 and its still in the building phase...I wonder if it will go out on said date considering many people got it shipped either before or after the ship date.

    College is starting 9/1, if I don't get it by then, I'm going to cry, T_T

    my esd is tomorrow and I'm still in the build stage too. I think my laptop is going to be delayed. You can call them up for compensations if it gets delayed.

    Chances are that if you don't go into testing at least 2-3 days before the ESD, you will be delayed.

    If you really need it, try a vostro... mine finished in a day.

    Or, if you really really need it, just go to a B&M/Newegg and order one. Asus Gx are nice if you can afford it.

    Thanks xScorpion. I'm not in a time-sensitive situation (like all the back-to-school kids), plus I can only get the same price break on a Latitude - I'm just tired of waiting...Oh well. That's life.

    my ESD is today. but Dell has delayed it to 8/29 now. *sigh* hopefully it will make it in time before i have to leave for school =/

    My shipping day is today for a Midnight Blue 1520 but it is still in production, ordered 7/26. At this point i'm hoping for a delay so I can hit them up for next day shipping and any other discounts/extras I can get out of them.

    My 1520 is scheduled to be shipped tomorrow (8/23), and it just entered boxing this morning (8/22). Do you think theres any chance of it being shipped before the 23rd is over? I ask this because I've seen many varying boxing stage lengths...

    I dont know if you called the Number or a CSR, but i know for the online status checker, it has a delay of 24-48 hours.

    Therefore, it might be already shipped but your online status still shows "Boxing" until tomorrow

    my esd was today also, called and talked to CSR and recieved a $75 credit. all you can do is call and talk to them about it. i wasn't offered, i asked if they were currently offering any comps for the delays and spent 5 minutes on hold before he came back with the above.

    A day late anyway, right before it shipped, the ESD got delayed to 8/30, but shipped nevertheless.

    I ordered a 1720 for my wife on 7/28. I think the first ESD was 8/9 and then was delayed with all the rest to today and has now been delayed a second time till 9/3. Fun, Fun, Fun. My wife did one of the online chats yesterday and it had one of the funniest examples of doublespeak i have seen in a bit:

    Agent (Sanjeev Kumar): "Welcome. However, as of now I will not be able to promise about the shipment tomorrow. But since the date is of 24th, I believe it should get shipped out."

    Trying now to decide whether to cancel or not. So far I have let the wife handle most of the talking but the lawyer in me really wants to go really go off shortly.
