    Zydan's post about his 1520 shipping prompted this. Not to beat a dead horse or anything, but what are people's Estimated Ship Dates compared with their Actual Ship Dates? My hoping is his estimated date of 8/9 and actual date of 7/31 might mean that my estimated date of 8/10 might be shipped on 8/1. Again, apologies for the redundancy of the post.

    I think it all depends on the parts.
    If they got your stuff they're very prompt about getting it out in 5 days or under, if they don't have your part it could be delayed over and over.

    I don't think it is.
    When I talked to them they said LCD too, but when they got into more detail it was acutal what holds the LCS which is the colored items.
    I think that's been a lot of the confusion.

    It's def. the colors causing the delays, not the LCD screen. I had an order that was delayed multiple times and was still in the build stage after 3 weeks. I reordered, changing the color from blue to black, and my new order advanced to the Boxing stage in under 15 hours.

    Ordered on 7/24. 8/6 was the ship date but I called twice to make some changes so new ship date became 8/20. Now I'm worried whether they made those changes or not since its been shipped so soon. Hmmm..

    Depends on the lid color and what spot you are in the "random" laptop construction process. Since you recently ordered, you may find yourself in the middle to the top of the line. If you are look many on this site, your "random" spot is in the back.

    I didn't get a choice for lid color. I assume it's just the standard gray. Since it's just regular gray then, that should speed up the build time then since the color slows it down?

    Hey...I ordered a XPS m1330
    I got LED w/cam, 1.5 Core Duo, black lid, fingerprint scanner, 6 cell battery.
    It was ordered July 29th and the Estimated shipment date is September 6th. Can Anybody give me a more realistic estimate. I was kind of expecting August 14-21st. Does this seem possible or likely? I was expecting the estimated date to be WAY over estimated. Thanks for any responses.

    Bump! My ESD was 8/10, moved to 8/31 cause a rep cancelled and reinstated my order "accidentally". Went into boxing on 8/11, so I'm anxiously awaiting a status of shipped!
