My friend placed an order for 2GB memory for his Dell laptop yesterday and his estimated ship date is on 6/18/07 when he placed the order on 6/11/07! He even chose Next Business Day shipping too! Anyone order memory from Dell before? Do they seriously ship memory 7 days after placing the order?

Cancel that order (or tell him to) and get the low, low price on pricegrabber.com. Save yourself some $$$ and get the mem. stick ASAP.

Don't buy your memory from Dell direct it's over priced.

Didn't Frost mentioned something about this in his review? I think he mentioned it somewhere in his D630 review about Dell's memory being maybe about $20 bucks more than neweggs? THat's not bad at all. Especially if Dell would fix the lappy if something happens caused by the memory upgrade.

Unless Dell can specifically prove that the 3rd party memory caused the damage, they cannot deny you warranty coverage/repair simply because you have a non dell memory. And since this process is very difficult, I would not pay the $20 premium to know that if something happens to the notebook because of the ram, Dell will fix it.
