Estimated Shipping time for M1210 in Canada

First of all, I would like to introduce myself here. I have been browsing through this site and forum ever since the m1210 was introduced, and I think this is the perfect laptop for me in university.

Anyways, back on track. Since I'll be leaving for vacation on July 14th, I don't know if I should order the M1210 now or wait after I come back in August 26th. Currently in Dell Canada, I see that there is a great deal where you can save about $450 with the coupons and savings. I found that to be a pretty good deal and I don't want to miss that. However, as you know, Dell always provides savings, so I would think that August would have another savings, possibly more or less - who knows?

My question here is, would the Dell M1210 ship to Vancouver (that's where I live) within a week? What is your experience with your M1210 order and the estimated shipping time?

While I'm at it, and I don't want to waste another thread asking another question. Since the M1210 is in the first gen phase, are there any major problems such as overheating issues or keyboard flex? I don't want to become one of those whiny MacBook owners when I receive my M1210. This will be my very first laptop, and I want to make it good!

Overall, if possible, please share your experience with your M1210 - likes & dislikes etc. Don't worry, I've gone through possibly 10 pages of M1210 threads already, so don't ask me to look around. I just want to get you all to share it all in one thread like this.

I ordered a M1210 on Sunday night from Dell.ca, the $1049 deal, I upgraded to the GeForce 7400, so it came to $1366 after tax, and the estimated shipping date in the email is July 12th. The order tracking code in the email still doesn't work on the site, they said to give it 48 hours, but I'm getting antsy.

I've been using my friends laptop for a bit (15" 1024x768 Lenovo T42) and that triggered me to get the M1210. I don't really have a valid reason for getting it, I just really got on impulse, but it seems really sweet from what I've been reading.

Today, I also picked up a Logitech V400, but there is no "Tuned" sticker on it, and the tracking seems really funky, I'm wondering if I should return it...

 

I ordered my 6400 on Monday July 3rd. 1218.66 after tax. i'm trying to check the stats frim the site too, but it says i ordered on tuesday. i think it was cause i ordered too late on that day. (10 pm)

 

I also ordered my 6400 (July 5th). With tax it came up to about $1530. 1.83ghz processor, 1gb ram, 120gb HDD, 256mb ATI X1400, and some other upgrades.

Hopefully I get it soon, I am also going on vacation soon, and would like to get it...

edit--> has any1 upgraded the sound card? I plan to hook up my laptop to my powerful speakers. Would it boost sound performance? (Bass mainly)

i ordered my dell inspiron on june 30th and it came yesterday at 11 the 6th the thing thats weird is that email they send me it still says the laptop is in production

hi, i ordered mine few weeks ago and am still waiting for my laptop, M1210, to be delivered. It has been shipped but it is hard to estimate the date that you would actually receive. Somtimes, they put your order as back order if there are not enough components, cpu, hard driver etc.. I would recommand you to wait it for two or three weeks at least if you are planning to order it now. Especially, it takes longer time to deliver to canada than US. The free shipping that dell offers right now is ground shipping. it takes 7-10 business days to be delivered in canada

 

hmm well they say i can get mine by monday making it 1 week.

 

wtf man, you guys are so lucky. even feeling a little bit jealeous (as this is my first notebook)
ordered inspiron e1505 on 30th june and it's still stuck with the customs in bangalore. irony being it was shipped within 20 hrs of processing the order. they've given me the lead time as 14th of july, when asked today about the status, the lady told me that it's due to reach New Delhi on monday (hopefully) and will be in for yet another customs clearance. the wait is the real kill. i think they should give me some kind of consolation for that . just cant wait to feel the core duo processor and the sxga screen.
