Does anyone have any idea on when to expect a new set of coupons for the 1420/1520/1720? Maybe based on how long it took last time they released a new set, or something. I don't know.

I'm going up to college August 17th, and it'd really make things a lot simpler to have it in-hand by then; I don't mind waiting until then if it means getting a better deal, though.

If you are in US, check out DELLUniversity. They already have a $200 coupon for $999 Inspirons.

DUDE I know! I gave them my university email but they haven't sent the coupon code yet! I think Purdue's webmail might of filtered it and they just delete spam they don't archive it :(

As August rolls around you can expect to see coupons for back-to-school and such.

The prices are pretty good for what you're getting though, especially on the 1520...more power than a MBP for the same money.

Hm, that $200 coupon isn't working for me. They ask me to give them my information, and then say I already have an account with them. Phone call time, I guess.

There should be an option to start shopping right away after you enter your college and email info. When you click that, you go to Dell>University and choose the laptop, and the discount is added at the cart.

Also make sure you choose "Student Currently Attending" even if you'll be a freshman...it ought to work OK.

I had my friend from the same college sign up real quick and he sent me the coupon. It's still legitament since we both are attending the same school and everything, it just bypasses the phonecall to dell ;)

I doubt they'll budge too much for a while yet; all I could get knocked off of my order was $50 with the $292 and 12% EPP discounts.

Any word on the July 4 sale? The 22 Confessions guy said they tend to have sales on holiday weekends, but with July 4 being a Wednesday it's hard to know which weekend it'll be. IDK how decent a sale it tends to be, either.

Dell rolls out new coupons on Thursdays (usually), so check tomorrow to see if there are new ones.

What do you mean you cancelled the accidental care plan? What impact would that have on the price...?

Er??? For the webcam there are two choices, no? Get the webcam or don't.

By the by for everybody trying to get a $200 off by registering to delluniversity as a student. Yes, it does work. I'm not sure what triggers it. I began a registration with my @virginia.edu address a few weeks ago. I had to confirm my registration by following a link from an email I received. I went to finish up the registration today but never received any coupon.

So I tried again with my @l.mail.virginia.edu address. This is equivalent to @virginia.edu but nobody really uses that address when they give out their email to other people. Well, anyway... as soon as I register that address, the web site says I'm done. No confirmation required. I received a coupon right away.

I actually never received the coupon on my @umd.edu account (which I registered a couple of weeks ago). What I did now was I tried registering under UMD again except I used my high school (we have a .edu extension!) email account and they sent me the coupon right away too.
