European M1330 order progress

I see this is for the M1330. But there is also a thread for the Vostro regarding this issue. And it looks like almost all European orders coming from the factory in Ireland are stuck.

I've read the "big thread" during last weeks but I've just registered.

I'm from Barcelona and my M1330 is in preproduction since July 7th.
The ESD is 03/08/2007. Who can believe that...

but seriously, ordered mine 6/7 and in preproduction since. I am in the NL
Estimated to arrive 20/8!! Not happy!!

 

hi xlaudrup, we talk also in the spanish forum, and well, what to say. I ordered it on 6July and it is on preproduction from 10. The Estimated ship date is on 6 of august. I dont believe it, but, what shall i do? no other computers with similars specs...

Any European with good news???

 

I'm from NL. Ordered it on 27/6, in the order status from 13/7 and a edd on 9/8.

 

No good news... Preproduction for me also, in France, order from the 6th of July. Shipping 2nd of August.

I have no news about any european order being further than preprod.

 

I've ordered the 9th of July and it is in preproduction since the 16th, the ESD is 14th of August...

New estimated date ship: 28 August

Basically 2 months

 

I cancelled my order after they automatically changed my T7700 to a T7500 processor without telling me about that.

Still searching for the right notebook. If something shows up soon (does anyone know something about the Sony SZ6 in Europe?) then maybe I go with that one. If nothing good comes around (12 or 13") I probably will order the M1330 as soon as delivery is better...

I've been told that the T7500 is now holding up my order.. I can get it quicker with a T7300 but i dont want to.

The wait continues.

 

I'm also in Germany, how is it possible we have so different ESDs?

 

Anybody tried calling or contacting dell about this. It seems to ba an issue in the european dell factory in Ireland, since pretty much everybody is stuck in preproduction. I have sent an e-mail, but no one has responded. I'm thinking of making a call today.

 

I've asked a couple of days ago, I've got this reply:

As you know, the production + delivery of this notebook is very long (as written in you confirmation of the order). There is a extra waiting time. During this time, the notebook is always in the pre-producion status.

I am told the system motherboard is holding my one up.

Maybe different parts are holding up each others XPs m1330.

Mine revised EDD it 15/08/2007 from 23/7/2007.

 

I didn't know there was a factory in Ireland.. i'll go and build it myself if they give me the address

 

The M1330 now has an additional 5 week delay according to the swedish dell page. This is up from 2 weeks posted a week ago.

Seems like they are having some serious issues with component inventory, or some other problems on the assembly line.

Haha, Yeah, it is the main assembly building for dell in europe. I got my Inspiron 9300 from it 2 years ago, and i just spoke top a dell rep. yesterday and he told me thats where they are build in europe.

I've had no contact whatsoever despite my emails and now I've just checked my order status and it's been delayed from 31st July to 6th September. Not happy at all.

 

WHAT? that was a hell of a long delay! Over a month?

 

Yeah. Dell can expect an angry phone call in a minute... Since they've failed to call me as promised.

 

I think that's what will happen to everyone. As soon as the ESD is reached they will delay it to september. The worst is that I can't find a convincing alternative to this laptop...

My Status :
order 2007-06-29 with EDD 2007-07-19, 'preproduction' since 2007-06-30
on 2007-07-13, EDD delayed to 2007-08-13.

I phoned Dell on the July 16th, and was promised a delivery within the week. (Actually, I called, they were supposed to call me back, but never did, so I had to call again ... ) The week is long since gone, I sent a mail and got an auto-reply that my rep was on holiday. And of course I was billed.

 

I just got off the phone with Dell and the lady told me that the European factory were out of screens. All screens were backorderd. She also told me that they would probably receive screens early next week and that they were working over the weekend to solve the problem.

 

Yep, I was billed on 6th july (£1500) and they want to ship me my laptop in September? What's going on!?

Mine is still set for August 10th. But this is looking scary.

 

my M1330 is also scheduled for the 10th, but I ordered a standard LCD display.

 

Mine is for the 13th but I doubt it'll be out by then. In fact the way things are going, I wouldn't be surprised if I don't get it before september, eventhough I ordered in june

 

I wish all of you the best of luck in getting your laptop on time. Even if I don't get mine till September, I'd still like you to get yours so we can have more pics, vids and user reviews

Just to clear it up in this thread, the options are irrelevant. If the laptop has a screen then it will be delayed

Yeah I know, but I inquired about it specifically with the customer service and they assured me that it was no problem...

 

I ordered july 3th and got billed the 6th (1941€ , my EDD was july 30th until yesterday, when they pushed it to the august 29th...

I'm very pissed off...My rep got already my angry mail and told me that they have many problems with the delays.

I need this computer for my work and every day of delay can result in mone loss... AND I HAVE ALREADY PAID FOR IT...

 

when do you think the problem will be solved? If i buy 2day, when do you think it will arrive?

Ok, order finally delay. Original delivery date: 2nd of August. Since this morning, it's gone to 10th September... My status says also "pre production since 28th of July", when it was since 7th of July until now. I guess I won't have it for my vactions. Sucks. And even better, they just took the money at the same time.

 

Dell even charged my CC 3 days ago! What nerve! Have any of you also seen this?
Emailed them last night, but i guess they will just ignore my complaints as always.

More or less the same as me:

Mine was in preproduction since 7th of July and the EDD was 3rd of August.
Now is "pre production since 28th of July" and the EDD is 12th September

I mailed twice las week the Dell's rep. who sold the M1330 to me and I got no answer at all, of course.

I think I'm going to cancell it... sad news...

 

Hang in there dude Im afraid we are all going to be delayed, even those of us (including myself) who think we will be getting it mid-August. Its good to dream, but is a laptop really worth a dream? Hmmm...

 

What is your ESDs then ?

The reason is that 14th August hasn't arrived yet. When it arrives and the status still hasn't changed you may get to know a more realistic EDD.

Not yet, i think the European production is still pending, but i hope it will start this week.
