Ok, it's shipping now in the US, but still no evolution in Europe? Did anybody reach production? I'm still in preproduction, since the 7th first, then since the 28th. My rep told me my laptop has reentered in production, just like if they found a problem and decided to rebuilt another one. I won't wait until the 10th of September, but I'm ready to wait a few more days to see if production is really starting. Would someone have info about the status of production in Europe?? Any REAL news I mean?![]()

Actually, what's the earliest european order on this forum ? Who should get their laptop first ? I ordered on June 29th. ( T7100,Red, LED screen, 160Gb 5400rpm, BT, finger print reader, X3100 graphics) -

Thanks plwarrior. Finally we have some real information! I don't understand why Dell is not communicating on this. It's just normal to have some manufacturing problems with new laptops.
So I'm waiting to see if manufacturing is starting for me. My order was placed on the 6th, delivery was expected on Thursday, but pushed to 10th of September. I'm really hoping to have good news this week. I have red backcover for LED, so I guess that's why it was blocked. If production is resuming fast, I will maybe keep my order.

Completely off topic but do you have any knowledge of what is holding up the Vostro production line in Limerick. I live in Limerick also - I'll willingly volunteer to help put mine together if it's a manpower issuebut I doubt it is!!!

Ive been onto Dell myself with the information about parts provided by plwarrior.. a NICE (shock) CSR has said this.
" According to the update from our production team the parts should be in
by 6th August. Please be informed that we don't promise any dates as the
lead-time is because the manufacturing unit not providing the parts. I
will keep you posted with the updates as soon as I there is one. "

Out of those 30 made do you know what percentages each color lid had? In the US it seems like most are shipping black right now, and no reds or whites.
Also, it would not surprise me if Dell pushes US orders first? -

I really still can not understand this. As long as they had some problems with the laptop, how come that they already chipped some to the US?. And some people even have the 2.4 while here in europe they tell us that the 2.2 is the most you can get, the other prosseccor have problems with graphic cards....
Does it really make sense for you. I ordered mine in 29 Jun and my ETDs is 28 August... -

I got £100 off too,
when my order was initially delayed I gave them a list of things they could do to stop me from canceling, unsurprisingly they didn't respond, I got another email from my rep a week or so later saying they had 'just' found out about the LED screen shortage and it was this that was holding up delivery, I pointed out that the direct to dell blog had mentioned the screen shortages two weeks prior to the email and for them to say they have just found out indicates either incompetence or deliberate misinformation. I gave them a day to give me one of the things on the list or I was canceling.
Low and behold my rep was kind enough to give me £100 for the inconvenience

If you are considering canceling your order because of the ridiculous delays in shipment, do it asap; I was also inclined to giving Dell the benefit of the doubt, so I sent them a message asking whether they could deliver a little earlier.
Instead of answering my email, they charged my VISA! Now I have to wait until they fail to deliver on the first date they quoted before I can instruct the card company to give me my money back.

xr31Daisy, comparing the colors is not a good idea. Quite simply because the screen capture is in JPG, so colors are slightly different, depending on the compression settings. So you can't really tell from the capture if it's a fake or not.
