The answer is yes everything is available for the Vostro 1500 so choosing Windows XP over Vista is not a problem. :)

I just received my Vostro 1700 yesterday with Vista Premium and I plan on installing Windows XP instead. Vista is utter garbage, slow and bloated. I had no choice in choosing Vista as it got me into the price range where I got the $500 off on my Vostro 1700.

Edit: Another downside to running Vista is my laptop gets on the rather warm side so going back to XP should help that immensely.

Amen to that brotha. Vista cd's are best used as coasters. I also find them fun while Skeet shooting.

Vista is absolutely painful to use. I'm back to running Windows XP.
