    Expected shipping date?!?!?

    I ordered at 1420 on Monday and per the status it is in production and is not scheduled to ship until 07Jan08! Is that correct or does Dell always push out delivery dates? What good is free 2 day shipping if it takes a month to get the damn thing...I may cancel if that is the true shipping date.

    Well, im not sure exactly. I ordered mine on the 1st(xps m1530) , and it said it was comming the 28th. I then went on chat and nagged them ,and said i needed it by christmas and i need it fast. They got it well before expected, it actually arrived today :). Go nag dell suport :)

    They overextend the date due to christmas overload, but you'll get it around a week earlier than expected.

    Thanks...I am holding to chat, but a week earlier than expected still does not get it to me in time for xmas...it is a gift for my wife.

    I ordered a 1420 on 12/9 with an estimated shipping date of 1/4. It shipped today (12/12). I think Dell is overestimating the dates quite a bit right now.

    That is good...if it doesn not ship by the 21st I will just cancel and then re-order after the 1st of the year....just to cause Dell a little grief (like my $800 cancel will affect a multi-million $$$ corporation)...maybe Michael Dell wouldn't be able to heat his driveway for 2 seconds.....
