    I've ordered a D830 - ship date listed as June 18th --

Does anyone have any inside info, experience, educated guess, or historical estimate if this is close, or are they going to "overdeliver" ---

I was hoping it might be a week sooner...

    Thoughts?

I was also wondering this. I ordered a lappy on the 31st, shipping date is set for the 7th..but I read online if they already had it built, they'd send it early. I had standard specs. So we'll see, I guess. Any views?

[sorry if you think this is hijacking]

from all of my purchases from Dell (there has been many!) I've found their estimated ship dates to be further down the road than actual. I'm sure they do this to give the customer a worst case scenario.

I purchased a D630 on the 28th, and it shipped out on the 30th. That was 2 days, and I should have it in my front door on monday or tuesday.

I think you misread what I wrote. What I said what pretty unclear and confusing though so I don't blame you :p

I'm saying Dell usually ships out sooner than what their estimate says.

I ordered my Latitude D630 on May 28th. The estimated ship date was June 18th yet my computer shipped out on May 30th which was just two days after I ordered it. :D

I have ordered several hundred laptops, desktops, and servers from dell over the years. Never once has it shipped on or after their estimated date. It is always before...

My most recent purchase was a D820 ordered on a Monday was there by Friday.
