    Hi,
I'm getting my Inspiron 6400 next week. I'm just wondering what's the difference between a full version and a express upgrade?
And when will the 64bit Windows Vista be available?

    Thanks

The express upgrade was a method Microsoft came up with to keep people purchasing new computers even though they didn't ship Vista over the holiday season (or something like that). Ordering your express upgrade will get you a CD to install the normal, full version of Vista on your computer. (The Vista version you get will depend on which version of XP you're running.)

The 64-bit Windows Vista will be available at the same time as the 32-bit version, but there are varied opinions on whether or not it's a good idea to use it over the 32-bit version yet.

Which version should I choose? 64bit or 32bit?
BTW, I don't have any 64 bit applications

I'm assuming you have a 64-bit processor, otherwise you wouldn't even have to make the choice.

I honestly haven't looked into the topic much...I have an earlier 6400 that has a 32-bit Core Duo processor, so I'm obviously going to install that version of Vista. The Google search below seems to return quite a few articles on this subject. There's probably some good advice somewhere in there.
