This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Extenal Antenna for Verizon??

    Hi there all,

    Am in the middle of a three day test of my builtin Verizon Broadband software on my XPS 1330. At home I only get 650Kbps (I am in a pretty rural area and we don't have things like DSL or cable here). That is about the same as my current wide area wireless network. At the local Starbucks I get three times that. So it appears while I am in the fast (3.1Mbps according to the systray icon) area the signal strength is limiting me.

    Is there some external antenna solution that would up the signal so I could get the fast speed. Even if it was a repeater that wasn't attached to the computer that would be fine.
