    Hey there!
The pricing is based on the Model you have, etc..

I just checked for my 1530 (even though I'm still under warranty til 2011):

Next Business Day Onsite Plus Nights and Weekends [add $189]
Dell On Call, 1 Year Assistance, 4 Incidents [$239]
    Complete Care [add $99]

Everything on there is *Ala Carte*, of course.

    Hope that helps!

    Cin ;) :)

Well, here's the thing: Iam in love with this laptop, but it is too expensive for me to get with a warranty. What I want to do is buy the laptop with the factory warranty and then extend it later on. What I want to know is how much that would cost? I'm thinking around $200 to extend from one to three yrs. Is that about right?

    my recommendation for warranty:

cost of warranty should not exceed 25% of the original laptop cost...

any more, put that money into savings/CD and it should be enough to cover at least half the cost of a new laptop when your old one breaks (fleabay your broken laptop for the other half of the cost :p)

i was going to extend my 1330's warranty for a year and i was quoted 240 and 300 with complete care. it is much cheaper to buy the warranty at the time of purchase

I gave you some pricing above, when I checked out how much it would cost to extend mine.

Why worry so about it now? You can order that laptop *you are in love with now*, and w/in 6 months of the expiration of the standard warranty ~ you can check out the pricing yourself ~ or call a Rep regarding the pricing to extend it.

I would prob's starting putting money aside after purchase....so I have some saving already invested in the extended warranty, before the standard warranty expired!

    :)

if you call, they are a bit flexible on the prices. when i extended my m1730 warranty 4 years with cc, it was 500 or so. they added the cc portion free and i got 100 dell money. just order it and extend it before the one year it comes with ends....

Yep, kind of the same story with my bro' when his warranty was almost up. (All his PC's are Dell business/personal).

They called him several times to try and sell him the extended warranty ~ each time he was like *Let me think about it & get back to you*!

In the end, he got a good deal on the extended warranty and a nice E-coupon to use! :D

Persistence does pay off at times!

My 3 year warranty was well worth the cost, yet right after my 3 1/2 mark my hard drive died. Just like cars, the bad things start happening right after the warranty ends.

Yes, if I still have my 1530 after 3 years - I will prolly extend out, also.
It just depends on pricing, etc at that point! :)
I will plan on calling a Rep, to see what the best deal I can get.

    (I like negotiating).... :p :D

I have a Inspiron 6400 that is being replaced under warranty. It only has another 3 months on warranty. It will cost me about $130 to extend my warranty to a 4th year (but so it would cover my replacement laptop)
