Does anyone know if you don't initially get the warranty how long after your purchase can you purchase some kind of extension past the initial warranty they give you for purchasing a computer...I recently got a 1520 a few days ago and I was wondering when would my last chance be to buy another year warranty...

In the past you had until the existing warranty expires. So if it has a 90 day warranty, buy the additional before that lapses.

i also have questions about warranties. like if i buy a dell notebook with no extended warranty; and i know it comes with 1 year limited warranty. can i purchase an extended warranty before that one year limited warranty ends or does it have to be sooner? because i want to buy a dell notebook but my budget is 1000 so i can't afford the extended warranty at the moment of purchase.

You can buy the extended warranty anytime while it is still under the origianl warranty. So if you have a 1 year warranty you have up to one year to purchase the extended warranty. In the past they sent me a letter offering me the extended warranty at a discounted rate. You can also call the warranty dept and try to haggle the price down.
