i bought a inspiron from bestbuy and didnt take the bestbuy service plans cause i dont like them and was thinking about purchasing the dell plan later on. well i contracted dell and i cant purchase the extended warranty thru them and best buy says there is no service plan to purchase 6 mos after purchasing. why wouldnt dell sell me a plan, doesnt make sense. any ideas?

same goes for dell but dell may not due to you getting it at best buy and not directly from dell? -
but best buy isnt really doing anything warranty if they have to ship it to dell.

Dell probably wouldn't sell you an extended warranty because you have no current warranty with them. In other words: You have no warranty to extend.
They have this policy because some people wait until something breaks before purchasing a warranty. As you probably know, warranties are based on the principle that the vast majority of people will never call in on them. If the majority of people actually used the warranty then it would not be viable because the cost of repair is more than than we pay for the warranty (On my D610 they replaced 3 motherboards, the screen backing, and the wireless card!) -
i did find out from the geek squad that they do sell an extended warranty for my laptop and i can buy it before the current one runs out. i plan to go check it out and see what it covered plus the cost.
extending warranty?...
