Has anyone ordered an external USB Bluetooth adaptor for their Dell notebook? I'm looking to add Bluetooth functionality very cheaply, and would appreciate any recommendations/advice from Inspiron or Vostro owners on the dongles offered by Dealextreme:

Looks like Meritline has a cheap one too, if anyone has experience with that one. Thanks!

Any one of them will work. But better yet, why dont you install the DELL internal Bluetooth module instead ?

Very easy to do an internal BT install, my refurb laptop came w/o BT and I fixed that very easily and cheaply!

i installed the 355 in my M1330, should be a lot easier in your 1520. Its much easier to install an internal card than carry a USB bluetooth everywhere. But if you really want a USB one, try eBay. A USB bluetooth adapter can be had for anywhere between $5-$10 shipped. Quality ones too, make sure they ship from America or you'll be waiting weeks to get it.

I have three class 1 BT devices; two PCMCIA; one USB. Plus a BT Modem that listened for BT and plugged into a phone line for 56KB dial-up. I don't use any of them anymore, but they all worked well.

I have had some (bad) experience with meritline, along the lines of it taking them 3 weeks to ship my memory card with no notification until after it shipped that my other memory card on the order was backordered and they decided to cancel it.
Did you really want to save $10 and have to have a dongle sticking out of the machine? -
just get a cheap 10$ 2.0 one off ebay in a dongle they work great i use them every day, i have the bluesoliel ones.. total cost maybe 12$ with shipping and have had zero issues with them.. plug it in the usb port and turn it on in the network connections and that it...

Thanks for all the responses. I don't think I'd be comfortable with opening up my laptop if I don't have to (I've done it in the past and didn't exactly enjoy it), and I think I'd use BT so rarely that I could just keep the dongle separate and plug it in every time I need it.

I did not order my most recent notebook with BT, because I figured I would use BT so infrequently.
