I have installed a Sigma IrDA infrared adapter in my Inspiron 1300 laptop, connected to a USB port. Device Manager says it is working properly but when it is aligned with the infrared port on my mobile phone the only result is 'connection error - no device found'. Grateful for any suggestions.

It's a Sony Ericsson, v cheap but seems quite good. I didn't realise there was any software for it. Will see if there is and try that, thanks.
