What is the max resolution I will be able to get with a Vistro 1500 with a 8400M GS video card using an external monitor.

Will it be able to drive a 24" Monitor at 1920 X 1200?

It should be able to, look in your manual in the specifications section.

I don't know what tis means. Does this mean it will or will not support 1920X1200 on a 24".

    Isn't 1920x1200 WUXGA?

Anyway, does this actually depend on your GPU? How about my Vostro with 8600M GT, what's the max resolution supported for external monitors? I'm assuming this is connect via VGA?

According to the Nvidia site the 8M series can support external resolutions up to 2560x1600 (DVI) or 2048x1536 (analog).

Yes, that's correct. That was a mistake on my behalf. Resolution is almost independent of the GPU these days. Even the worst GPU, lets say the GM 950, can output well over WUXGA. It mostly depends on what ports you have.

This is a question of fact, not opinion. There's only one right answer.

True, but I don't think the Vostro has dual link DVI or HDMI required for resolutions above WUXGA.
