    External monitor won't go to sleep on the 17R SE

    Well, I got this laptop last week, and I immediately reformatted it and installed Windows 8. There's one issue that's annoying the crap out of me that I can't seem to fix.

    I usually leave both monitors on and trust that Windows/the laptop itself will power off the monitors correctly. Whenever they do turn off, the laptop monitor turns off completely, but the external stays on and just essentially turns the whole screen black instead of actually putting it in power save mode. Does anyone know what the problem is here?
