    Hi all,

I hate posting when there is a problem, i also like to help, but i found myself quite useless mostly.

I just got a 19' WS external monitor, its the Asus VW 192T. I used the Fn+F8 to give it a signal, but i cant change the desktop resolution to a widescreen res., ie. i can only use 1024*768, 1280*1024 etc., any idea???

    thanks !!!!

    * If the screen had a driver disk, use it.
    * Upgrade your nVidia drivers, check out laptopvideo2go.com

If that doesn`t work, try Powerstrips for custom resolutions

Do you want to run the widescreen monitor only, or run a dual monitor setup? I have used a 17" Acer along with the notebook's screen for quite a while now.
Under display properties >> settings >> (asus monitor) >> advanced >> monitor, you might try unchecking 'hide modes that this monitor cannot display' and set the resolution yourself.
