Hey folks. Quick and dirty breakdown: YES, it's overclocked. NO, it doesn't do this in games, even after a 2-hour Crysis-fest or an overnight Oblivion quest. I scanned for artifacts with ATITool at clockspeeds even higher than my 24/7 and it's clear. BUT:

This will randomly happen in the 2D Vista environment. I pinpointed the first time I noticed it: it was after I updated WMP11 to be DRM compliant with a few songs I bought online. I dunno if that caused it, but that's the only variable I can think of. Other than that, nothing else has been changed.
Forceware 163.44s used, if you think it's a driver issue I'll update, but I just dig the performance of these so much I hope it's something else. NVMonitor has me idling at a nice 53c, and I'm torrenting, using Excel, and have IMEEM and youtube alternately playing in the background.

remove ur oc, and see if it happens again

If you have Aero enabled, it is 3D NOT 2D.
-
Just keep it at normal clock speeds, you can't expect not to run into troubles with an overclock in effect.

Thanks for the quick replies! Will flash back to old clocks and see if it alleviates.
Aero is enabled, so I guess 3D it is. However, clock speeds are ramped down via Powermizer, 175/200. -
you dont want to have your card oc'ed 24/7... have it set to default settings when you dont game. before you game oc it and play. this will ensure your card lives longer and you have less problems not to mention run cooler and consume less power.
-
Ya, you definately don't want your card overclocked all day.
F! What the heck is that!
