    Im plannin on buying a dell 1520 c2d 2.0
    2mb l2 cache 2gb ram
    120 gb hdd,
    256mb vga
i saw this config in a shop and doubt which geforce card it is 8600 or 8400 is 8400 comin in 256mb as well?,i thought only 8600 is available in 256mb on dell 1520 am i right?
another concern is wether the graphics card clock rate differs with each config if so how to check it.
and is it foolish to buy it without OS im thinking of installing it myself, factory image restore wont be there ,where can i get the drivers, and do i get it for everything like modem, touch pad,blu tooth, camera etc and make it fully functional.

Yes the 256mb graphics card should be the 8600M, as the 8400M has only 128mb max of dedicated memory.

No, the 8600M is the 8600M, your core/memory clock won't be any different than other dell 1520's.

I don't think there's an option to buy without OS?
