I recently got RM clock to try to preserve battery life between charges. In the power management settings it can set P-state transitions which lets me select:

    Index...FID...VID
    0 6x 0.975v
    1 7x 0.975v
    2 8x 0.975v

for both AC as well as battery. I'm not sure what these mean and whether i should select all of them or just index 0 (which is the default). Tried looking online for an explanation for what these terms mean but couldn't find any.

I believe the chips are capable at running at more than one multiplier, which that represents. The lowering the multiplier lowers the clock speed but makes the processor use less power. The chips should automatically do this by themselves. However, this option lets you override the maximum multiplier allowed.
