    All:

Drops from 6 feet up onto concrete are bad for laptops. It's got fractures all over the base, busted DVD-ROM drive, busted USB port, cracked battery casing, screen broken, screen torn loose from one hinge, won't power up.

I have a full replacement warranty. Since they don't make the 1520 anymore, what will they replace it with? Does Dell have bins of new, older parts that they can use to put together a new 1520 or would they just replace it with a Studio 15 or something?

I had an 8600m gt ddr2 in it. The only 8600m gt I see on their website is the ddr3 version in the XPS 1530. Any ideas??

They might end up sending you a refurb.

depends. dell sends new stuff in india.

if they give a different model, it will most probably be in the inspiron line only ( unless there are no good gpu configs).

The current Inspiron line is strictly low end stuff. The best video card you can get in one is an ATI HD 4330.

The best card that the Studio 15 comes with is the ATI HD 4570, which is a 64 bit card.

Neither solution is equivalent to or better than the 8600m gt ddr2

The only options I see are a refurbed 1520 with an 8600m gt ddr2 or an xps 1530 with an 8600m gt ddr3.
