I just ordered a new CPU fan for my Inspiron 1520. The reason I order a new one was because my fan was making very loud noise. In fact, you could hear it outside my room with the door close. My guess was due to fan vibrations. My laptop is about 4 years old. Is it normal for the CPU fan to vibrate after being old?

Are you sure it's the fan that's making the noise? If so, if you haven't clean the machine - like ever - there may just be a ton of dust buildup, forcing the fan to work overtime.

It's definitely abnormal for the fan to "vibrate" even after extended use. What makes you think it's "vibrating"? Is the laptop physically shaking?
