    I've been searchin but I can't find where you can
    control when the fan is off or on.
    Or when it is on ac it's off?
    Thanks for any help.
    I have a new xps 1330

    The fan runs automatically based on internal temperature. You don't want to manually turn it off.

    maybe on the outside.

    It's smart enough to know when it needs to be on.

    do you monitor the temps of your hardware? if so, what are they? and under what conditions?

    I think I may be but not, not that advanced.
    And you know it isn't the fan as much as when I type
    the computer hums or vibrates to the touch...
    not on he keyboard just the wrist rests.

    That's most likely just the hard drive spinning. Just let it be and don't think about it too much.
