    Dell Insprion 1505

I have problems with that i8kfan program. First it won’t do anything unless I click force fans to high. It detects a 2nd fan but I can never just turn on 2nd fan and even when force fans to high is checked rpm for 2nd fan shows 0. Does the 1505 have a 2nd fan? Also without this program how hot does notebook have to get before fans kick in? I have let it get to 100-109 degrees fahrenheit before getting scared and forcing fans to high. If I didn’t have the i8kfan program how hot would this thing get? I do have the latest bios installed, a08.

No, the e1505 doesn't have a second fan.

100F is about 38C? That's not close to hot, mobile CPU's are rated to work up well above that (Pentium M's were rated to go up to 100C, the CD and C2D should be up there too).

Just disable the fan control in i8kfangui and watch the temperatures and fan speed to find out the default BIOS fan settings.

100F is about 38C. Glad to know that is not close to hot. I didn't even think about looking for fan control in the bios. Thanks for the tip!
