someone spoke about a program that can control speed of fans for the Dell computers but it was not compatiable for Vostro (did not include it in the compatibility list). Does anyone have a vostro and use a program to control their fan speed?

I assume you mean I8kfanGUI. It's not in the list but works fine on my Vostro.

Not really. Same chipset etc. Just a bigger package.

Lol - why is it faster? It's the same technology just a bigger package.

A Vostro 1500 with the same processor, chipset (unconfigurable and the same for the 1500 or 1700), RAM and GPU will perform the same as a 1700 configured the same.

The only difference is a bigger screen and the ability to have 2 internal HD's.
