Ok after all my raising cain with dell, because they would not give me a northwood in an 9100 they have offered me an xps with the 3.2ghz northwood EXTREME processor..after all is said and done, and what they offer me I can get the laptop with about 35 % off......Now
Anyone know anything abou the extreme processor? Does it run any HOTTER than the regular northwood 3.2? My concern with it in a laptop is the the heat..thanks..t

The processor is pretty hot, but it isn't the main source. The RAM tends to be the hottest component in a book, which is unavoidable.
Why are you concerned about heat? Are you concerned that it will be uncomfortable to use or it will be unstable.
