I just ordered an Inspiron 9300 from Dell Home and Home Office. It was fairly customized, and I ordered a few accessories too, so I expected it to take a week and a half minimum, like my last Dell which was an I6000 I bought a few months ago. I ordered last Wednesday, the 20th, and it estimated delivery for August 5th (incidentally, my 18th birthday, but quite far off). I was expecting it at the earliest Friday the 26th, but to my surprise Dell changed the status to shipped Sunday the 24th (strange to ship on Sunday). UPS tracking number showed up yesterday the 23rd, and somehow, at 4:30 pm that very day the tracking number showed up, the notebook was delivered! I'm liking this incredibly fast shipping, didn't expect it especially with the back-to-school order swell. It's a nice 'top, too, pulled ~3,250 on 3dmark05, compare that with my desktop that pulls ~4,800 with a 6800GT and 64-bit 3500+.

Luck MC11, your benchmark increase is probably due to the fact that your memory is in dual channel (I assume). Since I bought the top with 256 meg and threw in a 1 gig stick from newegg, mine's not dual channel, and this might explain your increase. Even then, I can't image 4100 in 3dmark05 with this notebook, but I suppose it's possible. Haven't checked out that site you linked to yet, but perhaps it has 3rd party or leaked drivers which could also explain the bench increase.

lol is it wise to overclock on a laptop? i mean its already having a hard time to extract the heat since its in a small package.

I'm still waiting my delivery for the I9300 and the shipping date is Aug 9, 2005. I don't really care if I get the delivery fast, the only thing I care about is getting my notebook with no problems.
