Is it better with 1 stick of 1GB or 2x 512MB sticks for DDR2 ram @ 667??
Also, which brand is known to fully work on the E1505 - it must support the 667 speed??

Crucial upgrades show the following for the 1505:

I wouldn't go with 1 stick... but that's just me. If you can afford the 2GB Kit, I would go for it.
If not, I would stick with two 512MB sticks of the 667Mhz. You want to have at least 1GB of memory.
Just my 2 cents... -
how abut this one?
will it work? its lot cheaper than crucial.. only 79.99 a piece

1GB DDR2 PC2-5300 667MHz 128Mx64 200-Pin SO-Dimm, Corsair ValueSelect VS1GSDS667D2, Lifetime Warranty
Can someone verified that this would work...
thanks, -
1 x 1GB is you plan to add more ram in the future so you won't waste the original 2 x 512 mb ram. Notebook only has 2 slots.

yep only get 2 512 if you are not planning to upgrade -

I agree....unless you are goign to upgrade in the future. I had 2x512 from Dell and then upgraded to 2x1GB...even though I don't use all of it, I am sure it will in some future games. Keep that in mind when planning upgrades.

Has anyone read that the 667 ram actually does anything to boost performance in the e1705/e1505? I thought the intel-duo bus bandwith was actually already maxed out with the 533 ram, and it would only make it difference on boards with faster busses (i.e.: 800 mhz)? True? Not True?
Thanks- -
I should have emphasized the DDR2 part. DDR is different from DDR2 - two identical sticks are supposed to be faster,...but how much faster is it?
If I'm opting for a total of 1Gig ram, will I notice a difference between 1GB vs. 2x512MB sticks? -
It all depends on what you do. Word, Excel, Web surfing 1 GB more than enough. Photo editing (especially Photoshop CS2), Video Editing and Gaming 2 GB. So if use for the later you better off get the 1x1 GB and add one more later when needed so you won't wasted the 2x512. Don't foget even Dell said FREE UPGRADE TO 1 GB RAM actually you pay for it. They just add few buck here and there to make up the difference.
To show you how Dell work:
Upgrade to 2 Ghz processor with free upgrade add $300, without $240
Ultra sharp UXGA with free upgrade add $100, without $80
7200rpm HD with free upgrade add $325, without $292
8x Dvd Burner with free upgrade add $60, without $48
256mb Ati 1400 with free upgrade add $179, without $143
If you orderd all of the above with FREE UPGRADE. You actually pay $161 for the FREE UPGRADE
Now is it really FREE UPGRADE. Do your math.
Fastest ram 1 GB DDR2 @ 667 or 2x 512MB
